「ベーグル」試訳

風で転がっていくベーグルをひろおうと立ちどまった
ベーグルを落としたのは何か不吉なようで頭にきた
でもベーグルはだんだん速く転がって
身をかがめ、歯を食いしばってそれを追っかけてった
すると今度は自分の体が丸まって通りを転がっていく
って言うか、でんぐり返った自分もベーグルになって
別ののベーグルを追っかけてるみたい
何か分からないけどいい気分

The Bagel

I stopped to pick up the bagel / rolling away in the wind, / annoyed with myself
for having dropped it / as if it were a portent.
Faster and faster it rolled, / with me running after it / bent low, gritting my teeth,
and I found myself doubled over / and rolling down the street
head over heels, one complete somersault / after another like a bagel
and strangely happy with myself

　口語的に訳すと何故かディランを訳す中川五郎風にも。札幌はすっかり秋模様。お昼を食べた「桃源郷」＠パーク・ホテルの窓から。
